George Lucas, ‘Star Wars’ Creator, Marries Longtime Girlfriend Mellody Hobson In Skywalker Ranch Ceremony



"Star Wars" maker George Lucas wedded his longtime lady friend Mellody Hobson in a private function went to by close companions and relatives at the Skywalker Ranch in San Francisco, Calif., on Saturday, June 22, a Lucasfilm agent affirmed to Associated Press on Monday.

This is 69-year-old Lucas' second marriage and a first for Hobson, 44, who is a supporter to Abc's "Good Morning America," and the president of Ariel Investments.

Prior, Lucas was wedded to film manager Marcia Lou Griffin, with whom he has one received girl. Lucas embraced two others soon after his separation, and all his three youngsters were in participation at the wedding.

The Huffington Post reported that Lucas' child served as the best man, and his girls were the bridesmaids. Hobson was given away by New Jersey representative Bill Bradley, and writer Bill Moyers administered the wedding.

"It was a social occasion of individuals who have known George and Mellody for an extremely long time. It was a remarkable day loaded with so much love," Lucas agent Lynne Hale told the Marin Independent Journal.

Lucas and Hobson met at a business gathering in 2006, and got captivated early not long from now.

Talking over their association with moderator Oprah Winfrey late a year ago, Hobson credited receptiveness as the purpose behind their triumph as a couple. "I suppose we didn't have preconceived thoughts regarding what an organization ought to be along these lines we permitted ourselves to uncover something that was surprising," Hobson said around then.
