What happened to the Dogg pound? Actually, Snoop has chosen to jettison rap for reggae, and the name change is part of that. "It's not that I need to come to be Snoop Dogg on a reggae track. I need to cover Snoop Dogg, and come to be Snoop Lion," he said, as per The Huffington Post.
"I didn't have the foggiest idea that until I headed off to the sanctuary, where the High Priest asked me what my name was, and I said, 'snoop Dogg.' And he looked me in my eyes and said, 'no more. You are the light; you are the lion.' From that minute on, its like I had begun to grasp why I was there." Um, for realz?
